10 Things to do in the Fall along the Lakeshore
There’s loads to do in the Fall along the Lakeshore and we’re here to share a list of some of our fav Fall activities in 2024. Let’s make it a great one!
1. Visit crane orchards and pie pantry in fennville
Cranes Orchards is located in Fennville and is such a fun place to visit in the Fall. They have U-pick peaches and apples as well as a corn maze and a pie pantry which is near by! If you get some pie or lunch at the pantry, their outdoor patio space offers a beautiful view of the orchards.
2. Drive the lakeshore for a beautiful color tour
Lakeshore Drive is our most FAVORITE color tour in the fall because you get a mix of color, Lake Michigan, and beautiful lakeside homes to look at. There are plenty of other great roads to take along the lakeshore as well, linked below is a tour map for the Holland area.
3. Go to the Holland Farmers Market
Farmers Markets make for the perfect Fall morning. Pick up some sweet corn, apples, fall flavored baked goods, or crafts from a local farmers market. There’s one in almost every community along the lakeshore, but Hollands is definitely a top pick for us.
4. go through The corn maze at lewis adventure farm
Lewis Adventure Farm is located in New Era, Michigan close to Whitehall/Montague. The corn maze is of course a big hit in the Fall and their 700-acre playground is a highlight for the kiddos! They also have fruit picking, cute Fall photo ops, fresh donuts and fall treats, and so much more! Visit the zoo there to encounter some unique furry friends as well!
5. take the star of saugatuck boat cruise
A color tour from the water? Yes please! The Star of Saugatuck Boat Cruise is a MUST and in the Fall especially, it’s absolutely beautiful. Take your pick between a daytime or sunset cruise and take in the sights of Saugatuck from the Kalamazoo river!
6. Visit Bethke Farms in Grand Haven
Pumpkins, hay rides, and corn mazes, it doesn’t get much better than that! Bethke Farms is Grand Haven’s Fall hotspot and for good reason! They make sure you are enjoying this season to the absolute FULLEST! They open for the season on September 21st and we can’t wait
7. take up surfing or kite boarding
If you didn’t already know, surfing on the Great Lakes has become an increasingly popular hobby and Fall is one of the best times to enjoy it. Muskegon and St Joseph are specifically popular places to take on a wave, but the whole coast really will do! If you visit Third Coast Surf Shop in St Joe, you can get some great gear and get any questions you might have answered.
