Tips for Making Your Spring Cleaning Fun!

Spring has sprung, and that means it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get your home in tip-top shape! Wether your looking to get your home ready to sell or just preparing for summer gatherings, It’s time to declutter, dust, and scrub until every nook and cranny is squeaky clean.

And while it may sound like a daunting task, with the right attitude and a little bit of music, spring cleaning can actually be a fun and enjoyable experience! Here are some tips to make your spring cleaning a blast:

Make a cleaning playlist: What better way to get motivated than with some upbeat tunes? Create a playlist of your favorite songs to get you in the mood for cleaning. Think high-energy pop songs, old-school rock anthems, and anything else that gets you moving.

Set a timer: Cleaning can be overwhelming, so it’s important to pace yourself. Set a timer for 20-30 minutes and work on one task at a time. When the timer goes off, take a break and do something you enjoy, like reading a book or taking a walk.

Make it a game: Turn cleaning into a fun game by challenging yourself to finish certain tasks within a set amount of time. For example, see how quickly you can clean your entire bathroom or how many items you can declutter from your closet in 10 minutes.

A few creative games that will get the kids engaged are spring cleaning scavenger hunts. Possible items to include are unmatched socks, broken toys, spare change, empty bottles to recycle, expired food, and so much more! 

Get the whole family involved: Cleaning doesn’t have to be a solo activity. Get the whole family involved and turn it into a bonding experience. Assign tasks to each family member and see who can finish first. And don’t forget to reward yourselves with a family movie night or game night when you’re finished!

Put Your Favorite Reality Show on: Now, reality TV might not be your go-to genre normally. However, having something on in the background while you clean can keep your mind pre-occupied. If you are strongly against reality television you could try a series of YouTube videos.
